چکیده

In this paper, we present results from the complete set of cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation temperature anisotropy observations made with the Arcminute Cosmology Bolometer Array Receiver (ACBAR) operating at 150GHz. We include new data from the final 2005 observing season, expanding the number of detector-hours by 210% and the sky coverage by 490% over that used for the previous ACBAR release. As a result, the band-power uncertainties have been reduced by more than a factor of two on angular scales encompassing the third to fifth acoustic peaks as well as the damping tail of the CMB power spectrum. The calibration uncertainty has been reduced from 6% to 2.2% in temperature through a direct comparison of the CMB anisotropy measured by ACBAR with that of the dipole-calibrated WMAP3 experiment. The measured power spectrum is consistent with a spatially flat, ΛCDM cosmological model. We see evidence for weak gravitational lensing of the CMB at > 3σ significance by comparing the likelihood for the best-fit lensed/unlensed models to the ACBAR+WMAP3 data. On fine angular scales, there is weak evidence (1.7σ) for excess power above the level expected from primary anisotropies. The source of this power cannot be constrained by the ACBAR 150GHz observations alone; however, if it is the same signal seen at 30GHz by the CBI and BIMA experiments, then it has a spectrum consistent with the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect. Estimates of Cosmological Parameters Using the Cmb Angular Power Spectrum of Acbar

We report an investigation of cosmological parameters based on the measurements of anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) made by Acbar. We use the Acbar data in concert with other recent CMB measurements to derive Bayesian estimates of parameters in inflation-motivated adiabatic cold dark matter models. We apply a series of additional cosmological constraints on the shap...

Measuring the primordial power spectrum: Principal component analysis of the cosmic microwave background

We implement and investigate a method for measuring departures from scaleinvariance, both scale-dependent as well as scale-free, in the primordial power spectrum of density perturbations using cosmic microwave background (CMB) Cl data and a principal component analysis (PCA) technique. The primordial power spectrum is decomposed into a dominant scale-invariant Gaussian adiabatic component plus ...

Constraints on the Evolution of the Primordial Magnetic Field from the Small-Scale Cosmic Microwave Background Angular Anisotropy

Recent observations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) have extended the measured power spectrum to higher multipoles l &1000, and there appears to be possible evidence for excess power on small angular scales. The primordial magnetic field (PMF) can strongly affect the CMB power spectrum and the formation of large scale structure. In this paper, we calculate the CMB temperature anisotrop...

From CFT Spectra to CMB Multipoles in Quantum Gravity Cosmology

We study the inflation process of universe based on the renormalizable quantum gravity formulated as a conformal field theory (CFT). We show that the power-law CFT spectrum approaches to that of the Harrison-Zel’dovich-Peebles type as the amplitude of gravitational potential gradually reduces during the inflation. The non-Gaussanity parameter is preserved within order of unity due to the diffeo...

On Minimally-Parametric Primordial Power Spectrum Reconstruction and the Evidence for a Red Tilt

The latest cosmological data seem to indicate a significant deviation from scale invariance of the primordial power spectrum when parameterized either by a power law or by a spectral index with non-zero “running”. This deviation, by itself, serves as a powerful tool to discriminate among theories for the origin of cosmological structures such as inflationary models. Here, we use a minimally-par...
